Steve Madden Music presented an intimate show and kicked off their 2016 Concert Series with the young and talented singer-songwriter, Ryn Weaver at Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg.
The house was packed with her fans who lined up outside hours before the show and had their eyes locked onto the stage as they sang along to all of Ryn’s hits.
The 23-year-old Interscope recording artist, Erin Wüthrich aka Ryn Weaver was born in San Diego, California and has always been on the move as she told us in our exclusive interview before the show. She attended NYU for theatre, but really went there on a mission to meet other musicians, join a band and drop out.
Best known for her breakout single“OctaHate” from her first EP, Promises, Ryn gained tons of buzz and basically became an overnight sensation after posting the track, which was co-written with Charli XCX, to her SoundCloud and pulled in over 30,000 plays on the first day and passed the 1 million mark within two weeks.
“OctaHate” took the #1 spot on Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart when it was released.
Ryn’s debut studio album, The Fool was released in June 2015 and has climbed all the way up to #30 on the Billboard 200 charts. The record was produced by Passion Pit’s Michael Angelakos, Cashmere Cat & Benny Blanco.
Ryn told us that she got the name for The Fool from a tarot card that depicted a traveler choosing to walk a path which hasn’t been walked yet and how life is about making mistakes for yourself and figuring out what you want.
